I called before coming in and was told the smog check would cost $69 and included free recheck if my car didn’t pass. When I arrived, I asked if there was any discount. They offered me a cash price of $49. However, after I paid and my car failed the smog check, they told me I would have to pay the full fee again for a recheck. When I asked about the free recheck I was promised, they said the cash discount did not include a free recheck because it was their policy. If that’s their policy, why didn’t they tell me before I paid? They never mentioned that accepting the cash discount meant giving up the free recheck. I even offered to pay the regular price instead so I could receive the free recheck, but they still refused. They said the payment had already been processed and they couldn’t change it. By that point, I had already paid and had no choice. This experience felt very unfair and misleading. Important information should be explained before taking a customer’s money, not after. I’m extremely disappointed with how this was handled and will never come back.

The service is good, the personal is friendly but there is no adequate waiting area. They have plastic chairs outside in the sun, if you want shade you have to move your own chair to the sidewalk. So it’s not very accommodating for some customers, but if you’re ok with that then it’s fine because it really is a small business. They are definitely quick with their service if it’s not too busy. Also their website is not completely accurate it states you can make appointments but that’s incorrect, no appointments are available. Also if you try to get the coupon for $20 off, via their website it may go through. Just a heads up.

Read some of the bad reviews but basically those guys didn't follow instructions or complained when they failed. Most likely their car had issues so not the fault of the shop. I brought my car in and it passed (and I needed a STAR station this time). No issues, just present the coupon when you walk in and they will honor it. You do have to pay cash and don't get a free re-test but no problem if you pass. Took about 20 minutes and paid around 50 bucks. ($60 cash they gave $10 bill and one quarter change). Normally prefer if maybe the accept Zelle so don't need to deal with quarter but it's find as price is like $69 and change without coupon. You can just show the coupon with your phone.

Do not recommend! Not up front about charges and discounts. Must pay before test, even if fail, unlike other more reputable shops. No free retest if fails.

This place is absolutely horrible… I should have read the reviews to know what to except. On 2.3.26, I paid cash for a smog check and used a $20 coupon. My vehicle did not pass (check engine light / too lean bank 1) and I was told I had 10 days to come back to complete and pass the test again; or, I will have to pay again. Today, 2.5.26, my car was serviced at Pep Boys. I checked and found that the Smog Test Only Station closes at 5 p.m. When I arrived, at 4:48 p.m. I saw the roll-up door closed, but the pedestrian door was open. I was approached by an abrasive male what stated, “We’re closed.” I said I thought you closed at 5 p.m. He stated, “We’re take the last customer at 4:45 p.m. because it takes 20 minutes to complete a test.” I said I am (3) minutes late, a return customer (with my paid receipt / failed test results), and had my vehicle serviced and repaired today. He stated, “You have to drive it 100 miles before you come back to re-test.” “You could have just had the computer re-set.” I was not told about the needed 100 miles to be driven. The male who assisted me (2) days ago walked up and I told him that I was not told this by him. He said, “I do not remember you.” The
